There is an African proverb that says, “If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” A few weeks ago, the first face-to-face post-pandemic SM Green Movement Champions Meet & Greet was held at the SMIC OneEcom Palm Coast Room, to bring together a growing community from across the SM Group.
Although limited and not the complete roster, a small gathering (for the moment to take in consideration the safety of all) of advocates met for coffee and Goldilocks goodies to talk about all things Green Movement.
It was an afternoon of getting to know some of the SM Green Champions from SMIC, SM Prime, SMDC, SMEDD, SM Foundation, Watson’s, and Goldilocks, who have contributed their time, talents, and efforts, to create a network of individuals who are passionate about supporting our SM Green Movement pillars: Green Planet, Green Living, and Green Culture.
After a round of introductions, SMIC’s Sustainability Team presented updates on the SM Green Movement and the efforts that are being led by the different groups. Most notably, how we are all together for our environment when we stepped up our climate action program and joined the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures.
Watson’s Philippines also shared their sustainability programs and how they are taking a big leap in shaping a sustainable lifestyle in the country with their Look Good, Feel Good, and Do Good for the Planet programs.
Affirming that even though some of us are in our advanced stages in sustainability or beginning our baby steps in the journey, together, we stand as one SM and we are all doing our part to achieve sustainable business objectives for all our stakeholders.
When it comes to building the SM Green Movement , it takes a vibrant group of people to keep the ripple effect of championing what we do and why we do it. We look forward to the next SM Green Movement Champions Meet & Greet!
Since 2021, the SM Green Movement and the Green Movement Champions have been creating a community of passionate and enthusiastic culture of sustainability throughout the SM Group.
